What set-up fees are applicable?

No one wants an unexpected surprise on their first bill, and in some cases there may be applicable set-up costs associated with your order, as well as depending on if you choose to purchase our Wi-Fi routers.

For any applicable fees, we will display this clearly on your online application when choosing your plan options and again before submitting your order, meanwhile our Sales Team will always make sure you understand any applicable set-up fees before proceeding.

Hardware Costs

While we will never force you to use our recommended routers, we do think they're pretty great! Uniti is exclusively the only Internet Service Provider that retails the Nokia Beacon 2, a great router with Wi-Fi coverage up to 140 sq. metres and comes backed with the Nokia Wi-Fi mobile app for easy set up and change of settings.

We can supply this on sign-up for $180 and will dispatch via express post at no extra cost to make sure you're happy and browsing as soon as possible!

We may have other routers for specific locations depending on premise technology requirements or may have offers that provide a limited time discount, if this is the case we will display this clearly on our website and when choosing your plan options as well as before confirming and submitting your order. Our Sales team will always apply the best offer if there is one available.

Activation Fees

Upon activating a service, the Network Wholesaler charges an Activation Fee, which we may pass on depending on your plan choices. Uniti will only ever pass on this standard activation fee at wholesale cost and never profits from this.

The below table is the portion of the Activation fee we pass on to our customers depending on plan choice, ranging from the full fee, to absorbing the full activation fee on your behalf.

From time to time, we may have special offers that could reduce or remove an Activation fee, our Sales team will always apply the best offer if one is available, and our website will display this when choosing your plan options and reconfirm before submission of your order.

Other Fees

In some cases, the Network Wholesaler may also levy a 'New Development Charge' or 'New Connection Charge' This can apply for a first time connection at the premise and like the Activation Fee, Uniti will only ever pass the charge onto our customer at Wholesale cost

A New Development Charge of $300 will be passed on where applicable for the inaugural connection at a premise where all installation work has been completed in advance. This is typical for Apartments and Units (Multi Dwelling Units) where OptiComm will install all infrastructure and equipment in co-ordination with construction of the building, as returning for subsequent installations can cause disruption for residents

A New Connection Charge can range between $300 - $550 and is passed on where applicable for the installation and connection of any required network equipment. This is more typical for houses (Single Dwelling Units) where installation is done based on individual demand and requirement.
